Dodie performed at Marathon Music Works on September 20th, 2019. She sounded almost ethereal as she floated around the stage like a fairy. While her upbeat songs like ‘Monster’ were energetic and got everyone moving, it was her performance of the song ‘She’ that really stuck with me. While seemingly simple, the emotional ballad gave me chills, and perfectly explained the juxtaposition of falling in love while knowing that love will never be reciprocated.

The beauty of Dodie is, even though you are in room full of people, she some how makes you feel like you are having a heart to heart with a good friend. Her music is sweet and fun, but can also cut you to your core in the best way possible.
